A trio of Peace Country parks will be splitting $1 million for upgrades and improvements.
The provincial government announced today Moonshine Lake, Dunvegan and Queen Elizabeth Provincial Parks will receive the funding.
“As Albertans, we cherish our summers enjoying everything our wonderful parks have to offer. That’s why it’s so important to have a safe, fun and accessible place for children to play while exploring Dunvegan Provincial Park. I’m pleased our government is committed to improving the experience at our parks for everyone,” said Marg McCuaig-Boyd, MLA for Dunvegan-Central Peace-Notley.
Dunvegan will use the money to build a new playground, Queen Elizabeth Provincial Park is getting upgrades to their potable water system and Moonshine Lake will be improving their wastewater system, along with various other repairs.
“This investment will help undo years of neglect and ensure Albertans and visitors can enjoy our fabulous parks for many years to come. Albertans love their parks, and our government is committed to restoring our provincial parks to a level Albertans can be proud of,” Shannon Phillips stated, Minister of Environment and Parks.
This is part of the Government of Alberta’s five-year, $239 million plan to expand provincial parks.
